Basketball Recap: Yreka Comes Up Short

Yreka lost against Orland back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Miners took a 70-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans. The Miners have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Orland got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Derek Rubio out in front who went 9-for-14 to rack up 27 points. Rubio's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Lister, who shot 43% from the field on his way to 17 points.

Yreka's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Orland, their record is now 3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Yreka will challenge Phoenix at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Orland, they will face off against Lassen at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
