The Dobson Mustangs will square off against the Mesa Jackrabbits at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Dobson has given up an average of 9.9 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Dobson couldn't beat Skyline on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Mustangs fell 11-8 to the Coyotes. The Mustangs have struggled against the Coyotes recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Allie Hanson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and six unearned) runs on 14 hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mersades Torres was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiley Beard, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Mesa fell victim to Red Mountain and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 27-0 to the Mountain Lions.
Dobson's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Mesa, their loss dropped their record down to 1-16.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Dobson hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .337. However, it's not like Mesa struggles in that department as they've averaged .325. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
