Volleyball Recap: Center Grove Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Zionsville

Center Grove faced Zionsville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Trojans fell 2-0 to the Eagles. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Alex Vassar paced Center Grove's offense, picking up nine kills. Vassar got some help from Silas Zathang and his 15 assists.

Center Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 19-8-1. As for Zionsville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-9.

Center Grove has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Hamilton Southeastern on the 10th. As for Zionsville, they will challenge Lafayette Jefferson at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
