Softball Recap: Kearns Sets Scoring Season-High Against Green Valley

Kearns scored the most runs they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Green Valley Gators by a score of 13-12. Even though they lost, the Cougars' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.7 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Maliyah Solomon made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Myah Christensen also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Kearns' loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Green Valley, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-4.

Coming up, Kearns will be playing at home against Gunnison Valley at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Gunnison Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so Kearns' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Green Valley, they will take on Skyline at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Green Valley's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
