Basketball Recap: Fort Wayne Canterbury Comes Up Short on the Road Against Bellmont

Fort Wayne Canterbury had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 61-60 to the Bellmont Braves. While the Cavaliers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Braves 18-10 in the first quarter.

Fort Wayne Canterbury's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Nicholas Collins, who almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds, and Ben Hardin, who shot 56% from the field to rack up 15 points along with five boards and three steals. Noah Hayes was another key player, putting up three points and seven rebounds.

The win got Bellmont back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Fort Wayne Canterbury is taking a road trip to take on Eastside at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bellmont, they will welcome Heritage at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
