Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Somerville). They put the hurt on the Roxbury Gaels with a sharp 64-38 victory on Monday. Given the Pioneers' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Gaels are ranked 250th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Somerville's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.1 points per game. As for Roxbury, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.

Somerville will square off against College Achieve Central at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Roxbury, they will welcome Morristown at 7:00 p.m. on February 11th.
