Basketball Recap: Hilton Head Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Hilton Head Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a blow against the John Paul II Golden Warrriors, falling 55-20. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 155th, while the Golden Warrriors are ranked 46th).

Moriah Johnson was Hilton Head Christian Academy's leading scorer, having posted six points. Johnson also led the team in assists with two. Sissy Thompson held things down on the boards with 11 rebounds.

John Paul II was led to victory by Savannah Trott and Lauren Majorkiewicz. Trott went 5 of 9 on her way to 16 points, while Majorkiewicz posted 12 points and five steals. Another player making a difference was Lily Termini, who scored 11 points.

Hilton Head Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for John Paul II, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4.

Hilton Head Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 43-30 loss against Laurence Manning Academy on the 31st. As for John Paul II, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-36 win against Wilson Hall on the 1st.
