Softball Recap: Orosi Cardinals vs. Corcoran Panthers
Orosi was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 16-3 to the Corcoran Panthers. If the Cardinals were looking for revenge after losing 14-1 to the Panthers when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Miah Lopez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and 15 unearned) runs on five hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.
Orosi's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Corcoran, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Orosi has already played their next contest, a 16-3 loss against Avenal on the 28th. As for Corcoran, they are taking a road trip to square off against Farmersville at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Farmersville will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Corcoran surely won't give up without a fight.
