Baseball Recap: Marquette Catholic's Win Ends Nine-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Marquette Catholic barely beat Hillsboro the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Marquette Catholic was the clear victor by a 12-3 margin over Hillsboro on Saturday. That nine run margin sets a new team best for the Explorers this season.

Cohen Green looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tyler Roth, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Carson Bauer also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Marquette Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marquette Catholic will welcome Southwestern at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Hillsboro, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Bunker Hill at 4:30 p.m.
