Soccer Game Preview: Caney Creek vs. Willis

Caney Creek is on a five-game streak of home losses, Willis a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Thursday. The Caney Creek Panthers will host the Willis Wildkats at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Monday, Caney Creek didn't have quite enough to beat Grand Oaks and fell 3-2. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 441st, while the Grizzlies are ranked 155th).

Meanwhile, after soaring to eight goals the game before, Willis was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They lost 8-0 to Grand Oaks.

Willis' loss dropped their record down to 2-9-2. As for Caney Creek, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Caney Creek was able to grind out a solid win over Willis when the teams last played back in January, winning 2-0. Will Caney Creek repeat their success, or does Willis have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
