Volleyball Recap: Lake Central Continues Home Dominance on Monday

Lake Central entered their tilt with Merrillville on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Pirates 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in April.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Lake Central was: they took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-10, 25-11.

Lake Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Juan Flores, who had 11 digs and three aces. That's the most aces Flores has posted over his last nine matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Nelko Dragulski, who had 12 assists and three aces.

They weren't the only good server: Lake Central was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in 11 consecutive contests.

Lake Central pushed their record up to 22-6 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Merrillville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 14 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.
