Basketball Game Preview: Greenwood Bulldogs vs. Louisville Wildcats

Greenwood is 0-3 against Louisville since February of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Greenwood Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Louisville Wildcats at 5:00 p.m.

Greenwood is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game on Friday. They were dealt a 55-25 loss at the hands of Caledonia. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 260th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 100th).

Meanwhile, Louisville came tearing into Tuesday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 50-40 victory over the Whippets.

Greenwood's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Louisville, they pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Greenwood took a serious blow against Louisville when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 70-11. Can Greenwood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
