Volleyball Game Preview: Jackson Heights Cobras vs. Doniphan West Mustangs

After both having extra time off, the Jackson Heights Cobras and the Doniphan West Mustangs will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

Jackson Heights' tournament run continued when they took on Concordia last Saturday. The Cobras fell 2-0 to the Panthers.

The 2-0 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Jackson Heights lost were decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-23, 29-27.

Meanwhile, Doniphan West beat Washington County 2-0 last Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-17.

Doniphan West's record is now 18-15. As for Jackson Heights, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-20 record this season.

Jackson Heights couldn't quite get it done against Doniphan West in their previous matchup back in September as they fell 2-0. Can the Cobras avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
