Softball Recap: Manchester Find Success

Manchester hadn't done well against Triway recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Panthers walked away with an 8-4 win over the Titans. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 4-1 victory the Titans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Rachel Baker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on 13 hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cassidy Perry was incredible, scoring two runs while going 4-for-5. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Chloe White also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Manchester hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Triway struck out nine times.

Manchester now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Triway, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manchester will welcome Fairless at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Triway, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northwestern at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Huskies have averaged an impressive 10.3 runs per game this season.
