Volleyball Recap: Chadron Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Chadron challenged Scottsbluff on Thursday. The Cardinals lost 3-0 to the Bearcats. The Cardinals have struggled against the Bearcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Chadron may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 15 points in every single set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-15, 25-15.

Paige Slingsby paced Chadron's offense, picking up ten kills. Slingsby got some help from Jenny Pinnt and her 27 assists.

Scottsbluff was led to victory by Alainah Salas and Lillian Hays. Salas had 28 digs and three aces, while Hays had nine digs and two blocks. That's the most blocks Hays has posted over her last five contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Heidi Groskopf, who had ten digs.

Chadron's loss dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Scottsbluff, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Chadron will take on Sidney at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Scottsbluff, they will face off against Ogallala on Thursday.
