Academy of the Americas lost 3-0 to Cass Tech on Wednesday. Academy of the Americas has struggled against Cass Tech recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Mumford came tearing into Wednesday's contest with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Pharaohs 3-0.

Mumford's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Academy of the Americas, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 5-2.
