Basketball Game Preview: Bishop McNamara Fightin' Irish vs. Timothy Christian Trojans

The Bishop McNamara Fightin' Irish will take on the Timothy Christian Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bishop McNamara has three straight wins, Timothy Christian has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Saturday, Bishop McNamara got the win against Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley by a conclusive 54-34. The Fightin' Irish have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Timothy Christian came up short against Montini Catholic on Saturday and fell 41-28. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 458th, while the Broncos are ranked 220th).

Timothy Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Bishop McNamara, their victory bumped their record up to 20-4.

Bishop McNamara didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Timothy Christian in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 41-35 win.
