Preview: Killeen Kangaroos vs. Shoemaker Wolves
Killeen is 1-9 against Shoemaker since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Killeen Kangaroos will head out on the road to face off against the Shoemaker Wolves at 7:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Killeen has struggled recently with seven defeats in a row, while Shoemaker will arrive with four straight wins.
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Killeen, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 68-53 loss to Chaparral. While losing is never fun, Killeen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 981st, while Chaparral is ranked 392nd).
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Shoemaker beat Chaparral 46-40 on Tuesday.
Killeen's loss was their 11th straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-22. As for Shoemaker, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season.
Killeen was dealt a bruising 100-68 defeat at the hands of Shoemaker in their previous meeting on January 2nd. Can Killeen avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
