Softball Recap: Central Academy Finds Home Field Redemption Against Forest Hills

There's no place like home for Central Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They never let the Forest Hills Yellow Jackets get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Tuesday. Considering the Cougars have won nine games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Aislinn Calhoun made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (three). She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, Katelyn Easterly was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kieryn Peters, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.

Central Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .682. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Central Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Forest Hills, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-20.

As of now, neither Central Academy nor the Yellow Jackets have any future games scheduled.
