Baseball Recap: Northern York Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Northern York got themselves on the board against Greencastle-Antrim on Thursday, but Greencastle-Antrim never followed suit. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over the Blue Devils. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 back in April.

Not much got past Collin McDonald, who gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Greencastle-Antrim off the board. McDonald has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Northern York saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ambrose Depasqua, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Northern York's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs across that stretch. As for Greencastle-Antrim, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.

Northern York wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 10-3 victory against Red Land on the 3rd. As for Greencastle-Antrim, they will take on Big Spring at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
