Basketball Recap: Denfeld Starts Season with Win at Home

Denfeld took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Saturday. They blew past the North Branch Vikings, posting a 66-23 victory. For the Hunters, this counts as revenge for the 64-16 win the Vikings walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2024.

Denfeld's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Laynie Reinertsen, who posted 16 points in addition to five boards and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Maurissa Hendricks, who scored 18 points.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Denfeld will face off against Carlton/Wrenshall at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Branch, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Big Lake at 7:15 p.m. on December 12.
