Baseball Recap: Webster County Victorious

Webster County's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Mount View Golden Knights 4-2.

Maddox Brown spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Webster County is 4-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-8 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Issac Snyder was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Greyden Channel was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one run.

Webster County's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Mount View, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7-1.

Coming up, Webster County will venture away from home to square off against Tygarts Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Highlanders surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mount View, they will host Council at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
