St. Xavier faced Thomas Worthington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Bombers walked away with a 3-1 victory over the CARDINALS. Winning may never get old, but the Bombers sure are getting used to it with their 12th in a row.

The win didn't come easy: Thomas Worthington scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 23-25, 25-18, 25-21.

Joe Taggart paced St. Xavier's offense, picking up 23 kills. Taggart got some help from Cam Evans and his 52 assists. Benjamin Soloria controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Despite the loss, Thomas Worthington still got an impressive performance from Drew Barnes, who had 19 digs and three assists.

St. Xavier's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-1. As for Thomas Worthington, they moved to 15-4 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

After both having extra time off, St. Xavier and Archbishop Moeller will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Thomas Worthington, they will host Dublin Jerome at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
