Baseball Recap: Weatherford Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Weatherford can now relate to. They fell just short of the Southlake Carroll Dragons by a score of 4-2 on Friday. The Kangaroos' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it six in a row.

Landon Carlisle was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits.

At the plate, Weatherford saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ayden Thomas, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Weatherford's defeat dropped their record down to 13-18-1. As for Southlake Carroll, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 24-7-1.

Weatherford does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Southlake Carroll, they will face off against Frenship on Thursday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Dragons surely won't give up without a fight.
