Basketball Game Preview: Bountiful RedHawks vs. Box Elder Bees

Bountiful and Box Elder are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Bountiful RedHawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Box Elder Bees at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bountiful knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 16 matchups -- so hopefully Box Elder likes a good challenge.

Bountiful is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Woods Cross just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell to the Wildcats 59-55. The game marked the RedHawks' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Box Elder waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They secured a 58-52 W over the Royals.

Box Elder's win came from a few key players Bountiful will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Gunner Gunderson, who went 6 of 11 en route to 18 points. Those 18 points gave him a new career-high. Ryan Jenson was another key player, going 5 for 10 on his way to 14 points and six boards.

Box Elder's win bumped their record up to 4-12. As for Bountiful, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 12-4.

Everything went Bountiful's way against Box Elder in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as Bountiful made off with an 85-63 victory. Does Bountiful have another victory up their sleeve, or will Box Elder turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
