Softball Game Preview: Mt. Rainier Rams vs. Auburn Trojans

Mt. Rainier is 1-6 against Auburn since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Rams will take on the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Kentridge hit Mt. Rainier with a seven-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rams lost 11-1 to the Chargers. The Rams' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Mt. Rainier saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kadence Avila Petitt, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Auburn fell victim to Auburn Riverside and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Ravens, falling 14-0. The Trojans haven't had much luck with the Ravens recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Auburn's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Mt. Rainier, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Everything went Mt. Rainier's way against Auburn in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Mt. Rainier made off with a 27-21 win. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
