Preview: Grulla Gators vs. Raymondville Bearkats
Grulla is 1-7 against Raymondville since September of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Grulla Gators will be playing at home against the Raymondville Bearkats at 7:00 p.m. Grulla will be strutting in after a victory while Raymondville will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Thursday, Grulla earned a 13-2 win over Bishop.
Meanwhile, Raymondville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 37-7 defeat at the hands of Port Isabel.
Grulla now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Raymondville, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-6.
Grulla came up short against Raymondville in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 27-14. Thankfully for Grulla, Diego Gutierrez (who rushed for 165 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.7 yards per carry, and also threw for 61 yards and two touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
