Central came tearing into Tuesday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Buchanan Bears. For the Grizzlies, this counts as revenge for the 7-4 win the Bears walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Kaia Galaviz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ella Bakholdin, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Grace Hernandez also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Central's victory bumped their record up to 12-1-1. As for Buchanan, their loss dropped their record down to 13-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central will welcome Clovis North at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The last three games the Broncos have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Buchanan, they will face off against Clovis West at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Bears' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
