Soccer Recap: May River's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak on the Road

After soaring to nine goals the game before, May River was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They fell 3-1 to the Bishop England Battling Bishops. While losing is never fun, May River can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while Bishop England are ranked eighth).

May River's goal came courtesy of Madalynn Baker, who's now up to 16 this season.

May River's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-6. As for Bishop England, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. May River will host Beaufort at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. May River are facing Beaufort at the right time seeing as Beaufort are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Bishop England, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Providence Day at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Bishop England have won three straight at home, while Providence Day won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
