Softball Recap: Monmouth United Comes Up Short

Monmouth United was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Monmouth-Roseville Titans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-8 back in March.

Monmouth United's defeat dropped their record down to 4-24. As for Monmouth-Roseville, their victory ended an eight-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-19.

Coming up, Monmouth United is taking a road trip to square off against ROWVA/Williamsfield at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.88 runs per game on average), something the Red Storm will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Monmouth-Roseville, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Annawan-Wethersfield at 4:30 p.m.
