Basketball Game Preview: California Grizzlies vs. De La Salle Spartans

California is 1-9 against De La Salle since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The California Grizzlies will host the De La Salle Spartans at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

California will bounce into Friday's game after beating Foothill, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. California snuck past Foothill with a 59-55 victory on Tuesday. Given the Grizzlies' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Falcons are ranked 336th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

California's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from DANE WALLACE, who posted 13 points. Emeka Ifediora was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Meanwhile, De La Salle waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They claimed a resounding 79-37 win over the Matadors. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 26 points or more this season.

California's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points per game. As for De La Salle, their win bumped their record up to 22-3.
