Recap: Show Low Cougars vs. Winslow Bulldogs

The Show Low Cougars had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 53-42 win over Winslow. Given Show Low's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Winslow is ranked 120th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Show Low was led to victory by Mikenzie Kulish and Raquel Wilson. Kulish scored 15 points along with five steals, while Wilson scored 17 points along with eight steals. Wilson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 18 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Boyce, who scored eight points along with four steals.

Winslow's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jaci Gonnie, who scored 15 points, and Taylin Puhuhefvaya who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

Show Low's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 27-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points per game. As for Winslow, their loss dropped their record down to 6-18.

Show Low does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Winslow, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Payson at 1:00 p.m. on February 9th. Winslow is facing Payson at the right time seeing as Payson is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
