Basketball Recap: Ohatchee Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Ohatchee and Piedmont squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Ohatchee had to settle for second. They took a 68-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Piedmont Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 99th).

Ohatchee's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jake Roberson, who posted 19 points. Roberson continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Alston Carroll, who earned 19 points.

Ohatchee dropped their record down to 15-10 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Piedmont, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.

Ohatchee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Piedmont, they have already played their next game, a 63-56 defeat against Glencoe on the 5th.
