Softball Recap: Peoria Falls to Richwoods in First Game of Season

Peoria unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 23-8 to the Richwoods Knights on Tuesday. The Lions have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Richwoods' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Peoria will host Eureka at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lions are facing the Hornets at the right time seeing as the Hornets are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Richwoods, they will face off against Illinois Valley Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
