The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Rhode Island (Mount St. Charles Academy is ranked 28th, while Juanita Sanchez Complex is ranked 14th).
Last Thursday, Mount St. Charles Academy lost to West Warwick on the road by a decisive 52-33 margin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mount St. Charles Academy has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Juanita Sanchez Complex put another one in the bag last Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 80-44 victory over Scituate on the road. Juanita Sanchez Complex has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 23 points or more this season.
Kyle Delves was his usual excellent self, shooting 7-for-10 from long range and dropping a double-double on 29 points and ten rebounds. Delves is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Taurean Williams, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Mount St. Charles Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Juanita Sanchez Complex, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Mount St. Charles Academy came up short against Juanita Sanchez Complex in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 55-50. Can Mount St. Charles Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
