Football Recap: Delta Rabbits vs. South Sevier Rams

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Delta can now relate to. They and the South Sevier Rams were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but they suffered a 43-42 loss. That's two games in a row now that the Rabbits have lost by just one point.

Despite the loss, Delta still got an impressive performance from Jett Rawlinson, who rushed for 216 yards and three TDs while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Rawlinson is becoming a predictor of the Rabbits' success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is 2-1 (and 0-7 when he doesn't).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Sevier to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hudson Flinders, who rushed for 108 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries. That's the most rushing yards Flinders has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Masen Healey, who gained 91 total yards and two touchdowns.

This is the second loss in a row for Delta and nudges their season record down to 2-8. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only one points. As for South Sevier, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.

Delta does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Sevier, they will challenge South Summit at 4:00 p.m. on the 8th. The Rams will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least 31 points in their last five games.
