Basketball Recap: North Surry Beats Wilkes Central for Their Seventh Straight Victory

North Surry came tearing into Friday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Wilkes Central Eagles 76-43. Given the Greyhounds' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 158th, while the Eagles are ranked 416th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Fisher Leftwich, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 11 rebounds. The game was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kam McKnight, who posted 13 points and three steals.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordan Parks, who scored ten points. Noah McNeil was another key player, putting up nine points and eight boards.

North Surry pushed their record up to 13-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.8 points per game. As for Wilkes Central, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.

North Surry didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-40 victory against East Surry on the 28th. Wilkes Central has also already played their next match, a 64-48 defeat against Surry Central on the 28th.
