Volleyball Recap: Delta's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Delta came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Yorktown Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Delta was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Yorktown work for it, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 26-24, 25-16.

Leading Yorktown to victory were Chloe Ritchie and Lydia Hazen. Ritchie had 17 digs and two assists, while Hazen had three aces. Those three aces gave Hazen a new career-high.

Having lost for the first time this season, Delta fell to 2-1. As for Yorktown, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Delta will host Daleville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Yorktown, they will take on Zionsville in a tournament on Saturday.
