Baseball Recap: Army-Navy Takes a Loss

Army-Navy had lost eight straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 4-12 to make it nine. They lost 11-0 to the Escondido Charter Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-1 back in February.

As for Escondido Charter, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won nine matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Escondido Charter's part, the team relied heavily on Silas Telfer, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Telfer has been hot, having also posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Sam Romero was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Army-Navy will take on Guajome Park Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Warriors are facing the Frogs at the right time seeing as the Frogs are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Escondido Charter, they will venture away from home to take on Calvin Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
