Baseball Recap: Maranacook Gets the Win

Maranacook won the last time they faced Mount Abram and things went their way on Friday too. The Black Bears had just enough and edged out the Roadrunners 9-7. The Black Bears' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Will Watson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Grady Hreben, who went 2-for-3 with three runs.

Maranacook was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Maranacook now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Mount Abram, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Coincidentally, Maranacook and Mount Abram will both be playing Oak Hill the next time they take the field. The Roadrunners will host the Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Black Bears will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
