Avon strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on the North Ridgeville Rangers with a sharp 3-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in August.

Avon never let North Ridgeville on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-22, 25-21.

Bethany Sherwood paced Avon's offense, picking up 11 kills. Sherwood got some help from Lily Hamilton and her 17 assists. Caroline Busold controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Avon's win bumped their record up to 12-0. As for North Ridgeville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.

Avon and North Ridgeville should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Eagles will challenge Olmsted Falls at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (5 vs. 31). Meanwhile, North Ridgeville (ranked 247th) will meet Elyria (ranked 656th) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
