LaVergne had won two straight games and Trinity Ryan did her part to make it three on Thursday. The Wolverines blew past Central Magnet 28-8 with plenty of help from Ryan, who rushed for 158 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries, and also threw for 328 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 94.4% of her passes. LaVergne is 3-1 when Ryan posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.

Makayla Brooks was Ryan's top target, picking up 45 receiving yards and one score, while also punching in one touchdown on the ground. Brooks also deserves a shoutout for her performance on D, making six total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception.

LaVergne didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Brooks and Jada Starnes. LaVergne got some further help from Praises Buseh: she made 12 total tackles.

LaVergne now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Central Magnet, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

LaVergne wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 20-6 win against Stewarts Creek on the 17th. Central Magnet does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
