Bowdon will take on Lincoln County in a holiday battle at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Bowdon is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Clinch County 45-6. Winning may never get old, but the Red Devils sure are getting used to it with their ninth in a row.
Bowdon got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Joshua Hopkins out in front who threw for 174 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 passes, and also rushed for 48 yards. 113 of Hopkins' passing yards were hauled in by Kaiden Prothro, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Bowdon proved: they limited Clinch County to a paltry 2.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Gavin Parmer for the heroic effort on defense: he. Bowdon's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 5.4.

Bowdon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Mykah Patterson and Prothro. Prothro is also on a roll when it comes to receiving touchdowns, as he's now hauled in two or more in each of the last seven games he's played. Bowdon received some extra help from Prothro, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Meanwhile, while Lincoln County put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Early County. The Red Devils simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Bobcats 34-0. Given the Red Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Bobcats are ranked 140th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Kelby Glaze and Jonathan Norman. Glaze rushed for 81 yards and two TDs on only nine carries while Norman rushed for 78 yards and one score. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 73 yards.
Bowdon's record now sits at 12-2. As for Lincoln County, their record is now 14-0.
Bowdon strolled past Lincoln County in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a score of 45-28. Will Bowdon repeat their success, or does Lincoln County has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
