Baseball Game Preview: Cocoa Tigers vs. Bayside Bears

Cocoa hasn't had much luck against Bayside recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Bears at 6:00 p.m. Cocoa has given up an average of 10.5 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Rockledge hit Cocoa with a five-run third inning two weeks ago, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers came up short against the Raiders, falling 13-3.

Cocoa saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Champ Smith, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Bayside let Space Coast stack six runs on them in the fifth inning on Monday but luckily Bayside prevailed anyway. The Bears skirted past the Vipers 7-6. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bears as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Bayside's victory bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Cocoa, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.

Cocoa might still be hurting after the 8-0 loss they got from Bayside in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
