Softball Preview: Hammond Central Wolves vs. River Forest Ingots
The Hammond Central Wolves will be playing in front of their home fans against the River Forest Ingots at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. Hammond Central will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Hammond Central took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged Marquette Catholic out 14-13.
Talina Cisneros was incredible, scoring four runs while getting on base in five of her ten plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Mya Cutnoe, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, while River Forest put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Calumet New Tech. River Forest blew past Calumet New Tech 12-0. That's two games straight that River Forest has won by exactly 12 runs.
Hammond Central's win bumped their record up to 4-9. As for River Forest, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8.
