Volleyball Recap: Classical Takes Down Ranked Barrington

Classical faced Barrington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Purple were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Eagles. The Purple haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Classical's got stronger as the match went on, holding Barrington to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-13, 25-11.

Ian Nascimento paced Classical's offense, picking up seven kills. Nascimento got some help from Jacob Agramonte and his 24 assists. Finally, Jasper Hoefferle kept Classical's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Classical's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Barrington, they dropped their record down to 3-12 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Classical will square off against rival North Smithfield at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Barrington is set to face off against their familiar foe Cranston West at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
