Game recap: Porter Ridge High School Football Team tops North Davidson

INDIAN TRAIL, N.C. - After trading leads three times, Porter Ridge (Indian Trail, N.C.) snatched the lead for good when Chris Duffy ran for a touchdown in the third quarter, paving the way for victory over North Davidson (Lexington, N.C.) 34-27.

The Knights pulled ahead on a field goal by Matt Wogan, and subsequently went into halftime leading 17-10. The Pirates scored the winning points with a touchdown run by Duffy that came in the third quarter.

Porter Ridge led by as many as 17 points before North Davidson cut into the final margin.

Spencer Landfried made a difference for ND. The senior kicked one field goal.

Duffy stood out for PR in the win. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored 18 touchdowns on the season.



Led by Shy Tuttle, the Lexington school came in surrendering 13.4 points per game this season. The Knights struggled against the Indian Trail school's offense, which entered the game scoring 35.6 points per game.

The defeat comes as a step back for North Davidson, which notched a 20-14 victory over Mount Tabor in its previous outing.
