Baseball Recap: Chugiak Comes Up Short

Chugiak suffered their closest loss since April 19th on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Colony Knights by a score of 5-3. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Jack Carron made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Yawit, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Chugiak's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Colony, they pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Chugiak will face off against Bettye Davis East Anchorage at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Colony, they will be playing at home against Wasilla at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.07 runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of.
