Hunter Dawson posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Friday. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. The effort also marked the fewest earned runs (zero) he has had since back in February.

Dawson and Carlsbad will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Rancho Bernardo at 4:00 p.m. on April 9.
