Basketball Recap: Hobbton Comes Up Short

Hobbton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss. They were beaten by the Lakewood Leopards 60-17. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Leopards this season, with their most recent defeat being a 66-21 loss last Friday.

Lakewood found their leader in freshman Areona McKoy, who went 6-for-14 on her way to 15 points and seven steals. McKoy's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiyah Braxton, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Hobbton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Lakewood, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-3.

As of now, neither Hobbton nor Lakewood have any future games scheduled.
